The HMC621LP4E is a highly integrated downconverter IC that operates from 0.9 to 1.6 GHz. The
HMC621LP4E incorporates a high dynamic range,
single-balanced mixer core with integrated RF, LO and
IF amplifiers, making it ideal for compact transceiver
applications in Cellular//3G & LTE/WiMAX/4G. This
versatile converter RFIC operates with a low LO input
power level of only 0 dBm, provides 30 dB conversion
gain, and exhibits +33 dBm output IP3. The integrated
RF amplifier provides for an overall noise figure of
only 4.5 dB.

The circuit board used in the application should
use RF circuit design techniques. Signal lines
should have 50 Ohm impedance while the package
ground leads and exposed paddle should be connected directly to the ground plane similar to that
shown. A sufficient number of via holes should be
used to connect the top and bottom ground planes.
