HFX7000-200 Fiber Optic Component 50 Mbps, 650 nm LED DESCRIPTION The HFX7000-200 is a 50 Mbps LED designed to meet data easily mounted on the PCB while also offering improved transmission requirements in factory or office automation. The mechanical robustness and EMC protection versus plastic 650 nm wavelength provides operation in the low attenuation packages. The HFX7000-200 is designed to work with area of PMMA (Polymethylmethacrylat) fibers. The metal SMA Honeywell’s high speed receivers HFX7000-XXX and housing gives the user a cost-effective module which can be HFD7500-XXX, and is pin compatible with Honeywell’s HFX6015-200. FEATURES POTENTIAL APPLICATIONS • Super bright LED for optical fiber communication • Data transmission in factory automation and office • Integrated lens provides maximum coupling into plastic • High speed and short distance links fibers • High power output at 650 nm • High speed (50 Mbps) • High reliability • Designed to meet SERCOS requirement HFX7000-200 ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS1 Parameter Symbol Rating Forward current If 40 mA Reverse voltage VR 5V Power dissipation* PMAX 250 mW Soldering temperature TSOLD 250 °C for 5 seconds Operating temperature TOP -40 °C to 85 °C [-40 °F to 185 °F] TSTOR -40 °C to 85 °C [-40 °F to 185 °F] Storage temperature Notes: * Derate power dissipation at a rate of 1.7 mW/°C above TA = 25 °C [77 °F] ELECTRO-OPTICAL CHARACTERISTICS (TA = 25 °C [77 °F]) Parameter Condition Symbol Minimum Data rate Driven by recommended circuit fD DC Forward voltage If = 20 mA Vf Reverse current Vr = 5 V Ir Output power If = 10 mA Po If = 20 mA Po If = 20 mA λp 350 nm If = 20 mA ∆λ 20 nm Rise time If = 20 mA tr 8 ns Fall time2 If = 20 mA tr 8 ns Peak wavelength 1 Spectral halfwidth 2 Typical 1.9 Maximum Unit 50 Mbps 2.3 V 10 µA -7 (200) -4 (400) dBm (µW) -5 (315) -1 (795) dBm (µW) 1 Output from a 1 m long, 1 mm diameter plastic fiber (GH4001 made by Mitsubishi Rayon).
