The Mylar foil shielding protects your data as it travels through the four twisted pairs of 23 gauge solid copper wires by wrapping it in a thin metal sleeve thus keeping electrical interference from things like fluorescent lights and electrical lines found in a drop ceiling or inside walls at a minimum. Simply pull the length required for your installation straight from the box and terminate at your leisure. These boxes are a great aid in large scale network installations and other long distance cable runs. Need to use CAT 6A connectors, cat 5E and CAT6 connectors will not fit this cable, outside diameter of the cable is 6.9 mm.
