A bi-annual review of the Cypress product portfolio results in the business decision to discontinue certain product offerings. The attached listing contains two types of obsolete products: 1. Prune: an obsolete product that will be replaced by a functional, drop-in replacement. A drop-in replacement is defined as a product that is pin-to-pin and function/feature compatible with the obsolete product. 2. End-of-Life (EOL): a product that may be replaced by a closest substitute where possible. A closest substitute is a product recommended as the next best alternative (i.e., no drop-in replacement available for the EOL product), and one that may have certain functions/features that are identical to the EOL product. In some cases, the closest substitute may be the EOL product offered in a different package configuration. Please note that board re-design may be required. Last Time Buy (LTB) and Last Time Ship (LTS) dates are also provided for each product. The LTB date denotes the last day on which orders will be accepted; these orders may be scheduled for shipment through the LTS date provided. Part Numbers Affected: Please see attached table (233 part numbers) Please note the following special conditions on eleven (11) devices, which have an asterisk in the “Description” column: Note-1: Replacement products are on Sample lifecycle Note-2: These Optical Navigation System (ONS) devices will be replaced with a form, fit, and function equivalent device. These replacement products will contain the same product die as the current products, but employ a different packaging technology. Qualification samples of this new product will be available in October, 2011. Cypress will have sufficient inventory on hand to service customer needs through Q2, 2012.
