Scope of Change Notification
This product change notification (PCN) outlines the addition of a second source for
the Flexible Printed Circuits (Flex cables) used in Finisar’s products. In order to
improve supply stability and maintain/lower lead times to customers, Finisar is
qualifying a new source for these items.

Reason for Change
Finisar routinely qualifies multiple vendors for components within the design of its
products. This second sourcing activity will improve the stability of the supply chain
for the Flex cables used in the products listed in the previous table.

Detailed Description of Change
Finisar is qualifying this second source so that they may be added as an approved
Flex cable supplier for our products. As mentioned previously, this is being done for
the following reasons: to improve the stability of supply, keep the cost competiveness,
and maintain the high level of quality of these components used in Finisar’s products.
Implementation Date
The implementation of the PCN will be a rolling change which is anticipated to begin
in November 2016. Product samples and additional information are available upon
request. Qualification Reports should be available by approximately mid-October
2016.
