FUJITSU SEMICONDUCTOR DATA SHEET DS04-12103-4E ASSP DUAL COMPARATOR MB47393 s DESCRIPTION The Fujitsu MB47393 is a dual comparator which is designed to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltage. The input characteristics is equivalent of current industry standard comparator. Even though operated from a single power supply, the input common mode voltage range includes ground. Owing to adoption of clamp circuitry in input pins, mis-operation is prevented by negative input. The MB47393 is compatible with LM393. s FEATURES • Wide power supply voltage range Single power supply ––– 2V to 30V Dual power supplies ––– ±1V to ±15V • Wide input common-mode voltage range 0V to (VCC – 1.5)V • Low input bias current ––– 25nA typ. • High sink current capability because of open collector output 40mA min. • Package Plastic 8 pin DIP package (Suffix: –P) Plastic 8 pin FPT package (Suffix: –PF) Plastic 9 pin SIP package (Suffix: –PS) s PACKAGE PLAPMSTIC PACKAGE DIP-08P-M01 PLAPMSTIC PACKAGE FPT-08P-M01 PLAPMSTIC PACKAGE SIP-09P-M01 MB47393 s PIN ASSIGNMENT (TOP VIEW) OUT A 1 – IN A 2 + IN A 3 GND 4 –+ +– 8 7 6 5 VCC OUT B – IN B + IN B (DIP-8P-M01) (FPT-8P-M01) (TOP VIEW) 9 8 VCC OUT B – IN B + IN B GND + IN A – IN A OUT A VCC +– 7 6 5 4 +– 3 2 1 (SIP-9P-M01) s ABSOLUTE MAXIMUM RATINGS (see NOTE) Ta = 25°C Rating Power Supply Voltage Differential Input Voltage Common-Mode Input Voltage Output Short Current to GND Power Dissipation Operating Temperature Storage Temperature Symbol VCC VID VI –– PD Ta TSTG Value 36 36 –5 to +36 Infinite* 350 (Ta ≤ 55°C) –20 to +75 –55 to +125 Unit V V V –– mW °C °C * : This value is specified with respect to the short circuit from output to GND. However, short circuit from the output to VCC cause device destruction. Note: Permanent device damage may occur if the above Absolute Maximum Ratings are exceeded. Functional operation should be restricted to the conditions as detailed in the operational sections of this data sheet. Exposure to absolute maximum rating conditions for extended periods may affect device reliability. 2 MB47393 Figure 1 MB47393 EQUIVALENT CIRCUIT VCC – IN 1kΩ OUT + IN 1kΩ s RECOMMENDED OPERATING CONDITIONS Parameter Power Supply Voltage Operating Temperature Output Sink Current Symbol VCC ±1.0 to ±15 Ta ISINK –20 to +75 ≤ 40 °C mA Value 2 to 30 V Unit 3 MB47393 s ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS (Ta = 25°C, VCC = 5V) Value Parameter Input Offset Voltage Input Offset Current Input Bias Current Common-Mode Input Voltage Power Supply Current Voltage Gain Response Time Output Sink Current Output Saturation Voltage Output Leakage Current Symbol VIO IIO Condition Min. When negative voltage is applied to input pin, the pin is equivalently connected the GND through a 1kΩ of resistor. When low voltage below than –5V is applied, please connect a resistor serially to input pin in order to prevent the high current flow. *2: Positive input voltage may exceed the power supply voltage. As long as the other voltage remains in the commonmode input voltage range, the comparator will provide a proper output state. When VCC = 5V, your are requested to use VIN below 25V. s TYPICAL CHARACTERISTIC CURVES Figure 2 POWER SUPPLY CURRENT vs POWER SUPPLY VOLTAGE OUTPUT SATURATION VOLTAGE VOL (V) Figure 3 OUTPUT SATURATION VOLTAGE vs OUTPUT SINK CURRENT POWER SUPPLY CURRENT ICC (mA) 40 TA = –30°C 30 25°C 75°C 20 10 1 TA = 75°C 0.1 25°C 0.01 –30°C 10 0 10 20 30 40 0.001 4 MB47393 s TYPICAL CHARACTERISTIC CURVES (Continued) Figure 4 INPUT CURRENT IIN– INPUT CURRENT vs INPUT VOLTAGE Figure 5 INPUT VOLTAGE/OUTPUT VOLTAGE vs RESPONSE TIME VCC = 5V 50 (µA) OUTPUT VOLTAGE VO (V) (nA) 100 6 4 20mV 100mV 2 5mV 0 0 –100 –50 INPUT VOLTAGE VIN (mV) 0 100 Input Over Drive –100 0 0 0.5 1 TIME t (µs) 1.5 2 –300 –150 –1.0 –0.5 0 10 20 30 INPUT VOLTAGE VIN– (V) Figure 6 INPUT VOLTAGE/OUTPUT VOLTAGE vs RESPONSE TIME Figure 7 TEST CIRCUIT OUTPUT VOLTAGE VO (V) 6 Input Over Drive 4 5mV 20mV 2 100mV VCC = 5V RL = 5.1kΩ – PG VO + 0 INPUT VOLTAGE VIN (mV) 0 VREF Over drive value is fixed by VREF. –100 0 0.5 1 TIME t (µs) 1.5 2 5 MB47393 s PACKAGE DIMENSIONS 8-LEAD PLASTIC DUAL IN-LINE PACKAGE (CASE No.: DIP-8P-M01) 9.40 –0.30 +0.40 +.016 .370 –.012 1 PIN INDEX 6.20±0.25 (.244±.010) 4.36(.172)MAX 0.51(.020)MIN 0.25±0.05 (.010±.002) 3.00(.118)MIN 0.46±0.08 (.018±.003) +0.30 +.012 –0 0.99 –0 .039 0.89 .035 +0.30 1.52 –0 +.012 –0 +0.35 –0.30 +.014 –.012 .060 2.54(.100) TYP 7.62(.300) TYP 15°MAX C 1994 FUJITSU LIMITED D08006S-2C-3 Dimensions in mm (inches) 6 MB47393 s PACKAGE DIMENSIONS (Continued) 8-LEAD PLASTIC FLAT PACKAGE (CASE No.: FPT-8P-M01) 2.25(.089)MAX 6.35 –0.20 .250 –.008 +0.25 +.010 0.05(.002)MIN (STAND OFF) INDEX 5.30±0.30 (.209±.012) 7.80±0.40 (.307±.016) 6.80 –0.20 +.016 .268 –.008 +0.40 1.27(.050) TYP 3.81(.150)REF 0.45±0.10 (.018±.004) Ø0.13(.005) M 0.15 –0.02 +.002 .006 –.001 +0.05 0.50±0.20 (.020±.008) Details of "A" part 0.20(.008) 0.50(.020) "A" 0.10(.004) 0.18(.007)MAX 0.68(.027)MAX C 1994 FUJITSU LIMITED F08002S-4C-4 Dimensions in mm (inches) 7 MB47393 s PACKAGE DIMENSIONS (Continued) 9-LEAD PLASTIC SINGLE IN-LINE PACKAGE (CASE No.: SIP-9P-M01) 22.25 –0.30 .876 –.012 +.008 +0.20 2.85±0.25 (.112±.010) 1 PIN INDEX 6.00±0.25 (.236±.010) 7.80(.307) MAX 1.00 –0 .039 +0.30 +.012 –0 2.50(.098)MIN 2.54(.100) TYP 1.20 –0 +0.30 +.012 .047 –0 0.50±0.08 (.020±.003) 0.25±0.05 (.010±.002) C 1994 FUJITSU LIMITED S09002S-3C-3 Dimensions in mm (inches) 8 FUJITSU LIMITED For further information please contact: Japan FUJITSU LIMITED Corporate Global Business Support Division Electronic Devices KAWASAKI PLANT, 4-1-1, Kamikodanaka Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki-shi Kanagawa 211-88, Japan Tel: (044) 754-3763 Fax: (044) 754-3329 North and South America FUJITSU MICROELECTRONICS, INC.
