Sensing & Productivity Solutions 9680 Old Bailes Road Pro Fort Mill, SC 29707 +1 803 835 8000 May 20,2016 Shawn Martinsen DigiKey 701 Brooks Ave S Thief River Falls, MN 56701 Announcing changes in Assembly and Testing Locations for Magnetic Sensor ICs Dear Shawn, As our Magnetic Sensor IC portfolio expands with new and exciting products, Honeywell Sensing & Productivity Solutions (S&PS) is announcing that assembly of TO-92, SOT-89B, SOIC-8, U-Pack, TO-94 and 4/5-Pin packaged products will transfer from Juarez Mexico to established suppliers in China. Final product testing will transfer to the Honeywell S&PS facility in Nanjing, China. This announcement encompasses phases 2 and 3 of the transition plan from which phase 1 involving certain th T0-92 package versions was already announced on March 7 , 2016. Affected Product Listings: See Appendix 1 Transition Plan and Timing: A dedicated global cross-functional team is managing these transitions with first priority on continued quality, delivery and service. Buffer inventories will be put in place to serve customer needs during the 12 – 16 week period when equipment will be moved and requalified. Honeywell S&PS will continue to fulfill orders and meet contractual obligations. The transitions are expected to be completed by the end of April 2017. In order to enhance our planning for buffer stock builds, we would greatly appreciate if customers could review and update forecast requirements and communicate these to their customer care representative. Product Test and Qualification: We do not anticipate that these transfers will affect product form, fit or function and we will conduct thorough qualification testing to ensure that product performance characteristics specified on data sheets and customer specifications remain unchanged. There are no changes to the silicon sense die used in our products. Important Dates: We plan to operate this change notification according to JEDEC standard JESD46. For customers who utilise these products in special applications, have specific questions or where additional documentation is required, please contact your customer care representative or product manager within 30 days of the date of this communication.
