HIGH CURRENT VAL-U-LOK CONNECTOR SUPPORTING HIGHER POWER SYSTEMS WITH 13A MAXIMUM CURRENT RATING PRODUCT DESCRIPTION High current VAL-U-LOK connectors were developed to allow manufacturers using 4.2 mm centerline platforms and legacy VAL-U-LOK connector tooling to more easily design for higher power applications. These connectors offer a 13A maximum current rating, as compared to the 9A maximum rating of other VAL-U-LOK connectors, and are compatible with legacy VAL-U-LOK housings and terminal position assurance (TPA) accessories. The high current headers are offered from 2-24 positions, in a vertical configuration, and in a choice of UL 94 rated and glow wire tested (GWT*) materials. Additionally, the high current vertical headers are available with or without polarization pegs and with or without drain holes. For wire-to-board applications, the high current headers mate with legacy receptacle housings using high conductivity socket terminals. For wire-to-wire applications, high current pin and socket contacts are available for use with suitable plug and receptacle housings. The pin and socket contacts are offered to support 16 AWG and 22-18 AWG wire sizes.
