This will improve service to our customers by alleviating the potential for long term exposure to high humidity conditions during shipping and storage. Change KEMET’s present shipping method consist of reels inside carton boxes. The new condition places reels inside sealed Moisture Barrier Bags (MBB), with Desiccant and Humidity Indicator Cards (HIC). Before Justification and Benefits After The MBB package and shipment will improve our customer service by mitigating the risk associated with long term exposure to high humidity conditions during shipping and storage. This change does not affect the MSL 1 level for these components (per J-STD-020D) Recommended storage conditions : - Temperature between -10°C and+40°C - Maximum of 60% RH, - Atmospheric pressure between 860mbars and 1060mbars. Exposure to temperature/humidity in excess of above conditions may affect electrical parameters (leakage current, capacitance, dissipation factor or equivalent series resistance) of encapsulated epoxy capacitors and may result in damage during reflow at board mounting.
