Depending on the specifics of the application, excessive mating speeds may not allow sufficient reaction time for the connectors to properly self align and this can cause damage to connector housings and terminals. Molex recommends mating speeds do not exceed 40 mm/sec (1.6 inch/sec) for proper mating.
