Molex’s DuraClik family of connectors was designed for on-board instrumentation applications such as steering wheels and shift levers that are subject to high vibration. Automotive customers required a connector system that provided more robust features than most standard 2.00mm pitch systems, and DuraClik is meeting these needs. This preliminary datasheet covers the planned addition of a new vertical version to the family. Based on market demand, the new vertical versions will be launched around July, 2012, in initial circuit sizes from two to eight, with other circuit sizes available based on customer requests. DuraClik was originally introduced in a right-angle version to support market requirements. The new vertical version is designed to provide more flexibility to meet various space constraint and harness installation needs. The new vertical version uses the same housing and terminals as the right-angle series. This provides easier sourcing, and also enables customers to set-up a mating configuration with a vertical header on one end and a right-angle header on the other. This makes it easier for operators in the assembly-line process by providing a visual mating polarization difference.
