Appropriate de-rating is required depending on factors such as circuit size, ambient temperature, smaller copper weight of PCB traces, gross heating from adjacent modules or components and other factors that influence connector performance. Wire size and stranding, tin coated or bare copper, wire length and crimp quality are other factors that influence current rating.
