Output load regulation is specified for a load change of 20% to 100%. 2. When measuring output ripple, it is recommended that an external 0.33 µF ceramic capacitor be placed from the +Vout pin to the -Vout pin for single output units and from each output to common for dual output units. 3. During operation, care must be taken not to exceed the specified input range of the unit or to allow the output load to drop below the specified minimum (10% of full load). Operating the unit under either of these conditions could cause damage to the unit. 4. These converters are specified for operation without external components. However, in some applications the addition of input/output capacitors will enhance stability and reduce output ripple. Recommended capacitor values are: Derating Curve Vin 3.3 VDC 5 VDC 12 VDC Input Capacitor 4.7 µF 4.7 µF 2.2 µF Vout 5 VDC 9 VDC 12 VDC 15 VDC Output Capacitor 4.7 µF 2.2 µF 1.0 µF 0.47 µF For applications requiring very low output noise levels, a simple LC filter should be effective. 5. It is recommended that a fuse be used on the input of a power supply for protection. See the Model Selection table above for the correct rating.
