How to read the date code on a relay Introduction: Date code / lot number is the number to identify when the component is being manufactured. It is for the factories production quality control and tracing purposes. Date code: There are 3 different date code format on our relays: 1) Three digit code: The first digit represents the year and the remaining two digits represent the week number in a calendar year, e.g. 451 means week 51 of year 2004. 2) Four digit code: The first two digits represent the year and the remaining two digits represent the week number in a calendar year, e.g. 0451 means week 51 of year 2004. 3) Five digits code: The first digit represents the year. The second two digits represent the month and the remaining two digits represent the day, e.g. 41201 means Dec. 1, 2004 Factory code: A letter following the date code identifies factory location. Examples: US Part No: TK1-5V Date code: 70313 – the relay was made on March 13th 2007. Factory code: B – Japan factory (internal use only). US Part No: AQV412EH Date code: 431 – 31st week, 2004. Factory code: Blank – Japan factory (internal use only). US Part No: S2EB-5V Date code: 40113 – January 13th 2004. Factory code: Blank – Japan factory (internal use only). Release date: 12/2007
