Tiny
Arcade
Assembly
- TinyCircuits
Putting
together your Tiny Arcade kit is very simple and takes about 10
- 15
minutes.
The onlyInstructions
tools you will
need are a flat head
screwdriver and some tape (such as scotch tape), which is used to hold the acrylic case together during assembly.

STEP ONE:
First we want to assemble the electronics to make sure everything is working. Take the Battery and plug it into the connector
marked BATT on the Processor board.
Note: The speaker and the battery connector are the same size, so it is possible to plug this into the incorrect position. This will not
damage anything, it just won't allow the unit to work.
STEP TWO:
Take Speaker and plug it into connector marked SPKR on the Processor Board.

STEP THREE:
Take the Screen Board, remove the protective covering over the screen, and plug it into the grey connector on the Processor Board,
such that the glass side of the board is facing the joystick.

STEP FOUR:
Turn on the Tiny Arcade by flipping the switch on the back side of the Processor Board, make sure that the joystick works, the two
buttons work, and the speaker is putting out sound. If not, try to move the volume knob all the way one way, then the other way to
see if the sound comes on.

STEP FIVE:
Take the acrylic sheet of arcade cabinet pieces and snap the various pieces apart, these break apart very easily. Try to knock off any
of the little hanging pieces that are attached to the acrylic, you can use your fingers, or a small knife (like an X-acto knife) to break
these off.

STEP SIX:
Peel off the protective covering on all of the acrylic pieces. You can do this using your fingernail, or you can use some tweezers or a
knife tip.

STEP SEVEN:
Take one of the side acrylic pieces (either 6 or 9, it doesn't matter which since they are both the same), and put a nylon screw
through the hole in the lower middle of this piece, and thread it into the nylon spacer. Hand tighten the screw to the spacer.

STEP EIGHT:
Take the piece of foam double sided tape, and remove one side of the protective covering.
Note: If you do not have any tape in your Kit, or do not want to use it, jump to step Eight A for an alternative way to place the battery.
Place the tape is the center of acrylic piece 3. Then remove the other protective piece from the tape, and attach it to the battery.
You should attach it to the battery side that has the writing on it.

STEP EIGHT A:
If no foam tape is included in your kit, or you do not want to use it, the battery can be placed between the speaker and the main
processor board. Do this after you put the speaker into place in step seventeen. See the below picture for where the battery will be
placed.

STEP NINE:
Take the electronics assembly, and make a small gap between the Screen Board and the Processor Board, this will let you put the
electronics into the acrylic easier. Make sure that the speaker is positioned below the processor board, and the wires go through a
small channel in the board. The battery should be positioned above the processor board. Align the board tabs to the side acrylic
piece (the one with the screw that you put in during step 7) and push the electronic boards into the side acrylic such that the board
tabs fit nicely in the slots. You will likely have to wiggle this a bit to get it into place.

STEP TEN:
Using some tape (Scotch tape works well for this), attach piece 3 (this is the part with the battery already taped to it) to the side
piece. Piece 3 should slide into the holes that are in the side piece, and use the tape to wrap around the side of the acrylic to help
hold it in place.

STEP ELEVEN:
Apply tape to acrylic piece 5 and place it into the very top of the arcade cabinet and slide it into the slots on the side piece. Wrap the
tape around so it attaches to Piece 3 (the piece with the battery on it). Add another piece of tape from piece 5 to the side piece to
help hold it in place.

the tape around so it attaches to Piece 5 (the top piece).

STEP THIRTEEN:
Take piece 10 which has holes in it for the joystick and buttons. Rotate this the correct way so it lines up with the joystick and
buttons, and slide it over the joystick and buttons. Move the Processor board out a slight bit so you can get piece 10 to slide into the
side piece, then once in place, make sure the Processor board is back in the slots on the side. Note: Tape isn't needed for this part,
but it's not a problem if you add some to hold it.

STEP FOURTEEN:
Take piece 7 and place it over where the screen is. The cutout in this piece is not centered so it does matter which way it fits in. The
hole will be more aligned to the top of the cabinet, the bottom side has more material and should go towards the joystick. Note: Tape
isn't needed for this part, but it's not a problem if you add some to hold it.

Take the speaker and place it at the bottom of the arcade cabinet, the sides of the speaker should fit nicely through the notch on the
side piece and on piece 11. Make sure the wires of the speaker are clear of the holes, we don't want to pinch these wires when we
tighten the cabinet together.

STEP TWENTY:
Take the other side piece (either piece 6 or 9) and start to place it over the other arcade pieces and try to get the pieces to start
fitting into the holes. You will likely have to wiggle this piece a lot, and move around to all of the acrylic pieces to get them to fit in the
holes. When all the pieces are in, take the second nylon screw, and put it through the hole in the side piece and screw this into the
nylon standoff. Use a screwdriver to tighten this slightly, so the arcade will hold together.
