ME6222 400mA , Ultralow Output Voltage 0.8V, Adjustable ,High Speed LDO ME6222 Series General Description Features The ME6222 series are highly accurate, low  Voltage Setting via External Resistor:0.8V~5.0V noise, LDO Voltage Regulators .The output voltage  Maximum Output Current: 400mA can be set via the external resistor.  Dropout Voltage: On chip 125mV@ IOUT =100mA (Vout=3.3V) trimming adjusts the reference/output voltage to within ±2% accuracy. Internal protection features  Operating Voltage Range:2.8V~18V consist of output current limiting, safe operating  Highly Accuracy:±2% area compensation, and thermal shutdown. The  Standby Current: 45uA(TYP.) current limiter’s feedback circuit also operates as a  Line Regulation: 30mV(TYP.) short protect for the output current limiter and the  Temperature Stability≤0.5% output pin. The CE function allows the output of  Thermal Shutdown Protection:165℃ regulator to be turned off, resulting in greatly reduced power consumption. The ME6222 series can operate with up to 18V input. Setting the Output Voltage ME6222 series output voltage can be set via a external resistor. AS the internal reference is 0.8V (Typical), the external voltage can optionally set between 0.8V and 5.0V by connecting a extra resistor between the Vout and VFB pins and a resistor between the VFB and VSS pins. Input Bypass Capacitor An input capacitor is recommended. A 1uFor more tantalum on the input is a suitable input bypassing for almost all applications. 3. Output Capacitor The output capacitor is critical in maintaining regulator stability, and must meet the required conditions for both minimum amount of capacitance and ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance).The output capacitance required by the ME6222 is 2.2µF or more, If a tantalum capacitor is used. Any increase of the output capacitance will merely improve the loop stability and transient response. The ESR of the output capacitor should be less than 1Ω . 4. Load Regulation The ME6222 regulates the voltage that appears between its output and adjust pins. In some cases, line resistances can introduce errors to the voltage across the load. To obtain the best load regulation, a few precautions are needed. Figure 1, shows a typical application. The Rt1 and Rt2 are the line resistances. It is obvious that the VLOAD is less than the VOUT by the sum of the voltage drops along the line resistances. In this case, the load regulation seen at the RLOAD would be degraded from the datasheet specification. To improve this , the load should be tied directly to the output terminal on the positive side and directly tied to the ground terminal on the negative side.
