(MAC address is used as the serial number) b Locate the ident button and Associate/Power LED. b a 4 Operate the Extender 3 Install the Range Extender a Power the Smart Energy Range Extender by plugging it into a standard electric wall outlet. When the device has power, the Associate/ Power LED will be lit and steady. b Register the serial number and installation code of the Smart Energy Range Extender with the Coordinator of the network. c Permit joining on the Smart Energy network by the method defined for the Coordinator or joined routers of the Smart Energy network. d While joining is permitted on the network, start the Smart Energy Range Extender’s join process by pressing the ident button once. Joining may require up to a half minute to complete. e When the Smart Energy Range Extender has joined the network successfully, the Associate/Power LED will begin flashing. a b To add additional devices to the network once the Range Extender has joined, either return to step 3c, or press the ident button twice. Pressing the ident button twice will permit new devices to join the network. To make a joined Smart Energy Range Extender leave the network, press the ident button four times. The Smart Energy Range Extender will leave the network and attempt to join a new network.
