Product Description
The QbE Cleaning Platforms are the patented
Precision Wipe System for cleaning fiber optic endfaces. They are self-contained cleaning tools that can
be used wet-to-dry for the most thorough end face
cleaning possible. The QbE is convenient and
economical for use in field or OEM applications.

Typical Product Data and Physical Properties
QbE wipes are 100% noncontaminating material. These
wipes have high absorbency and contamination
entrapment capacity, as well as high wet strength.

Compatibility
QbE wipes are compatible with most common
solvents such as alcohols, hydrocarbons and
chlorinated solvents. The wipes are also generally
compatible with dilute or weak acids.

Usage Instructions
Combination Cleaning with the QbE
•
Pull one QbE Wipe over the fiber-safe foam
platen.
•
Hold the end face at a 90 degree perpendicular
to the platen.
•
Draw the end face lightly from the solvent wetted
area to the dry area over the platen, using a
smooth linear motion - do not press too hard.
•
Do not retrace your cleaning procedure in the
same area.
•
Do not use a figure-eight motion; do not use a
“twist & turn” motion.
•
Check your work with a fiber scope or measuring
device.

Combination Cleaning Process
For Splice Preparation
•
Lightly moisten QbE wipe and gently wipe away
fiber contaminants.
•
Lightly dampen a 38540ESD swab, remove soil
from V-grooves on fusion splicer.
Buffer Gel Removal
•
Pull three single QbE Wipers out of the container.
•
Spray a small amount of Electro-Wash PX Fiber
Optic Cleaner into the folded wipers.
•
Pull the cable through the first wiper and discard.
•
Repeat until the cable “squeaks” clean.
