707 Carbon Monoxide Analyzer What about Carbon Monoxide? Test flue gasses at home or office spaces for the presence and location of CO leaks. With a protective rubber boot, the new 707 fits comfortably in your hand and operates with the push of a button. National Ambient Air Quality Primary Standards in the US call for less than 9 ppm carbon monoxide for an 8 hour average during any 12 month period. • Clear and fast response with advance pump driven technology. • Peak Hold to capture peak CO reading. • Instrument recycles and will not shut off if 15ppm CO is present, increasing safety. • Store Button allows you to save up to eight readings and then print using the IR port and optional A740 printer. • 1 ppm sensitivity. • Measures up to 10,000ppm. • Push on fittings are fast and easy to use. • Large easy to read backlit display. • Advanced electrochemical sensor is field replaceable and calibrateable. • Protective rubber boot and soft carrying case with shoulder strap 3-YEAR LIMITED is included. Concentrations of 1 to 2 ppm may be found in homes with a normally operating gas furnace, to well over 1,000ppm in homes with a faulty furnace. Just 200 ppm CO over 2 to 3 hours can cause slight headache, fatigue, dizziness, and nausea. Carbon Monoxide testing is a crucial service provided by HVAC/R technicians. CO is the by-product of incomplete combustion in heating and cooking appliances, as well as gasoline, natural gas, and propane powered engines. Carbon monoxide is a colorless, tasteless, invisible toxic gas, which can cause serious health problems. The following chart depicts the health effects of exposure to CO: 0ppm 9ppm 50ppm 400ppm 800ppm 1600ppm 12800ppm Desired level Acceptable limit above ambient conditions in living areas (ASHRAE) Limit for continuous exposure in any 8 hour period (OSHA) Frontal headaches 1-2 hours Nausea and convulsions, death within 2 hours Nausea within 20 minutes, death within 1 hour Death within 1-3 minutes A740 Infrared Printer • Self test at power on. • Adjustable contrast. • Uses common thermal paper. • Manual paper advance. 3-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY 3.0”w x 6.0 h x 1.75”d visit us at www.tpi-thevalueleader.com 707 Carbon Monoxide Analyzer TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND ACCESSORIES Power Supply Sensor Range Warm Up Response Time Duty Cycle Battery Life Size Weight Probe Length Tube Length 3 “AA” Alkaline Batteries Electrochemical (2 year warranty) 0- 10,000ppm Approx. 20 seconds 90% of reading < 60 seconds 30 minutes Approx. 30 hours 3.75” x 8” x 3” (95 x 203 x 76 mm) 1.1 lbs. While a CO analyzer can provide a safety test of the furnace, it cannot provide a discernable test for heat exchanger integrity. The TPI HXG2 and HETKIT are recommended for this test and together are AGA approved. How often should I calibrate my CO analyzer? It depends on the use of the instrument. If used for service work, it is recommended that an annual calibration be performed. If any aspect of worker safety is included in the instrument’s job, monthly calibration is recommended. If I perform my own calibration, do I increase my liability? As long as traceable calibration gas is used and manufacturer’s calibration procedures are followed, liability will be minimized. Calibration records should be documented and retained. How long will the TPI 707 sensor last? Two to three years. Who can use this product? Users of the 707 include HVACR contractors; gas fireplace installers; gas utility companies; chemical plants; propane companies; municiple, industrial; and rural fire departments; school and municipalities; and home inspection professionals. info@tpicanada.com Test Products International UK Ltd. contactus@tpieurope.com Why should I purchase a pump driven CO analyzer rather than a less expensive CO monitor? A pump driven analyzer is a much more versatile tool. The pump draws a sample into the instrument whish allows source pinpointing. A pump driven instrument will also respond faster, and can be used for hot air (flue) sampling. How many calibrations can I expect out of a 21 liter bottle of calibration gas? 35-50 calibrations info@tpi-thevalueleader.com Longley House, East Park Crawley, West Sussex RH10 6AP England Tel: +44 (0)1293 561212 Fax: +44 (0)1293813465 FAQ To learn about the entire line of TPI products visit: www.tpi-thevalueleader.com L 707-0305 Copyright © 2005 Test Products International, Inc.
