Preliminary Datasheet LP4061 800mA Standalone Linear Li-Ion Battery Charger with Dual LED Display General Description Features The LP4061 is a complete constant-current constant- voltage  Programmable Charge Current Up to 800mA linear charger for single cell lithium-ion batteries. Its SOT 23-6 &  No MOSFET, Sense Resistor or Blocking Diode Required TDFN-8 package and low external component count make the  Constant-Current/Constant-Voltage Operation with Thermal Regulation to Maximize  Charge Rate Without Risk of Overheating  Charges Single Cell Li-Ion Batteries Directly from USB Port  Charge Voltage with ±1% Accuracy ambient temperature. The charge voltage is fixed at 4.2V, and  Available in SOT23-6 & TDFN-8 2mmx2mm Package the charge current can be programmed externally with a single  Charge Current Monitor Output for Gas Gauging resistor. The LP4061 automatically terminates the charge cycle  Automatic Recharge  2.9V Trickle Charge Threshold  C/10 Charge Termination LP4061 ideally suited for portable applications. Furthermore, the LP4061 is specifically designed to work within USB power specifications. No external sense resistor is needed, and no blocking diode is required due to the internal MOSFET architecture. Thermal feedback regulates the charge current to limit the die temperature during high power operation or high when the charge current drops to 1/10th the programmed value after the final float voltage is reached. Other features include charge current monitor, under-voltage lockout, automatic recharge and a status pin to indicate charge termination and the presence of an input voltage. When the battery is charging, the STAT pin is pulled low by an internal N-channel MOSFET. When the charge cycle is completed, the pin is pulled High. TDFN-8 3 1 2 5 GND Ground. BAT Charge Current Output. Provides charge current to the battery and regulates the final float voltage to 4.2V. An internal precision resistor divider from this pin sets the float voltage which is disconnected in shutdown mode. VCC Positive Input Supply Voltage. It provides power to the charger.
