3M Fiber Dome Stubbed Terminal FDST 08S ™ Designed for the 3M External Cable Assembly Module (ECAM) Factory Terminated Fiber Cable Assembly (FCA) ™ The compact 3M Fiber Dome Stubbed Terminal FDST 08S is designed to be ™ deployed in outside plant environments. The re-enterable hermetically sealed stubbed terminal /FDU can be deployed in aerial strand, pole, pedestal or handhole/ 3M Fiber Dome Stubbed Terminal FDST 08S ™ vault applications in the following networks: • FTTP Multi-Dwelling Unit (MDU) Network • Mobile Fiber Backhaul Network • Fiber Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Network • Fiber fed Mobile Distributed Antenna System (DAS) Networks • Fiber to the Business (FTTB) Networks The FDST 08S terminal is available with up to 24 SC/APC or 24SC/UPC 3M Fiber Dome Stubbed Terminal FDST 08S ™ connectors. It can accept up to six 3M™ Factory Terminated External Cable Assembly Module (ECAM) Fiber Cable Assemblies (FCA) with 2, 4, or 6 connectors. The 3M Factory Terminated ECAM FCA Cable Assembly is a factoryterminated cable assembly with connectors on one or both ends. The ECAM FCA is available with various connectors (SC, LC, & ST) and in lengths ranging from 100 to 1200 feet. They are shipped with a pulling sock to protect the cable assembly and to allow the cable assembly to be pulled through trees and conduit. The FDST 08S terminal is equipped with a factory terminated stubbed Telcordia GR-20 certified cable in lengths of 200, 400, 600, 800, 1,000, 1,200, and 1,400 feet. The factory-terminated stubbed cable helps to reduce the installation costs and material costs required to build the network. It virtually eliminates the need to splice pigtails or terminated fibers in the field which helps decrease installation costs & time. This feature also enhances network reliability/quality since the construction staff does not have to handle the connectors inside the terminal. The FDST 08S terminal features a fixed O-ring sealing system along with an innovative latching mechanism. This combination provides simple, virtually errorfree terminal sealing and re-entry. Also, the re-entry feature allows easy access to clean and repair connectors and replace the terminal or terminal tail in the event that either of these are damaged. 3M External Cable Assembly Module (ECAM) Factory Terminated Fiber Cable Assembly (FCA) ™ The 3M™ Fiber Dome Stubbed Terminal FDST 08S utilizes the External Cable Assembly Module (ECAM) built-in drop entry port system. The ECAM design allows true plug-and-play capability which can reduce installation and labor costs when installing the 3M™ Factory Terminated External Cable Assembly Module (ECAM) Fiber Cable Assemblies (FCA). Also, the built-in drop entry system allows the technician to add and remove ECAM FCA cables from the terminal without disturbing previously installed FCA cables.
