FT232BM USB UART IC The FT232BM is a USB to serial UART interface with the following advanced features: • Single chip USB to asynchronous serial data transfer interface. • UART interface support for 7 or 8 data bits, 1 or 2 stop bits and odd / even / mark / space / no parity • Full Handshaking & Modem Interface Signals • Integrated level converter on UART and control signals for interfacing to 5V and 3.3V logic • Adjustable RX buffer timeout • Integrated 3.3V regulator for USB IO • Fully Assisted Hardware or X-On / X-Off Handshaking • Integrated Power-On-Reset circuit • In-built support for event characters and line break condition • Integrated 6MHz - 48Mhz clock multiplier PLL • 4.35V to 5.25V single supply operation • Auto Transmit Buffer control for RS485 • UHCI / OHCI / EHCI host controller compatible • Support for USB Suspend / Resume through SLEEP# and RI# pins • USB 1.1 and USB 2.0 compatible • • Support for high power USB Bus powered devices through PWREN# pin USB VID, PID, Serial Number and Product Description strings in external EEPROM • EEPROM programmable on-board via USB • Data transfer rates from 300 baud to 3 Mbaud (RS422, RS485, and RS232) at TTL levels. • Compact 32-pin LQFP package • 384 byte receive buffer and 128 byte transmit buffer utilising buffer smoothing technology to allow for high data throughput.
